Hair fork 1 by NoctiLuna Hair fork 1 by NoctiLuna
This is the first hair fork I've ever made :) I'm really happy with the result because the last time I worked with wood was in elementary school, but there's still a lot of improvements that can be made.
I also want to glaze(?) the fork but I'm not sure what to use yet.

Materials: cherry tree wood, Dremel, Japanese saw, tools for wood-carving, sanding paper

The rose detail is very pretty. I like that the hair fork isn't all symetrical and perfect -- spotlights the natural quality of the wood. At first glance I thought the shell was attached to the fork :giggle: silly me

:) Yes I think natural materials can have some flaws, they're organic after all. (and I suspect it would be near impossible to get the fork 100% symmetrical..at least for me ^^ )
Now I'm totally in love with woodworking...I want to make moooooooaaar forks :giggle: Strange enough, carving the fork was very meditative, although everyone around me was unnerved by the gruesome sound of the Dremel ^^

 Dremel tools do sound gruesome because they remind me of trips to the dentist. Not good memories!

Haha, that's exactly what my parents said! I, however, don't mind because my teeth are really healthy and my dentist only looks at them :D
